Lopud island is an oasis of peace , beauty and tranquility  50 minutes away
by boat from Dubrovnik.
It is surrounded by a lush vegetation , with  beautiful sandy beaches , particulary the  beach Šunj, with its    parks
and gardens, a group of the highest palm trees in Europe...
Tourists have been present here more than a century , and before them Lopud was a favorite resting place of Dubrovnik nobles who had their summer villas here.
The Maritime Republic of Du
brovnik gave many famous sailors and captains who passed its glory all over the world´s  seas.
The entrance to the harbour is dominated by a Franciscan monastery from 1483, whose part is a church of St. Mary of Šplica with many valuable works of art of famous masters.
On the island there is no traffic and no cars.
The basis of the center is one of the longest promenades on the Adriatic coast crossed by many longitudinal streets climbing up the hill.
By arriving on Lopud you will learn why the old Dubrovnik nobles chose this jewel of the southern Adriatic sea as a place of enjoyment, rest and relaxation.
